We respect the privacy of visitors to our site. This Privacy Policy governs the use and collection of information from you by Against All Odds Productions (“we” or “us”) through your use of this site. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information you may provide to us through other means—for example, at a live event, via mail or email, or via telephone. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully so that you understand our online privacy practices. By visiting this site, you agree that your visit, and any dispute over our online privacy practices, is governed by this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. Questions regarding privacy issues should be directed to privacy@TheObamaTimeCapsule.com.

Children’s Privacy

Children should always get permission from their parents before sending any information about themselves (such as their names, email addresses and phone numbers) over the Internet, to us or to anyone else. We won’t knowingly allow anyone under 13 to provide any other personally identifying information through the site. If you’re under 13, please do not provide us with any personally identifying information about yourself (such as your name, email address or phone number). If you want to order a Personalized Book, please ask a parent or guardian to help you with the order process.

Types of Information We Collect

The information we gather falls into two categories:

(1) information (such as your name, email address and shipping address) that you voluntarily supply when you order a Personalized Book at Amazon.com or when you customize your Personalized Book on this site, and

(2) information gathered on usage patterns and preferences as you navigate through our site.

Billing and Shipping Information. We do not collect billing information on this site. All billing information is collected by Amazon.com. For information on how Amazon.com uses your billing information, see Amazon’s Privacy Notice. After you place your order on Amazon.com, Amazon will send us your name, the email address you used when you registered with Amazon, your order number and the shipping address you provided upon ordering. We’ll use this information to identify you when you come to our site to create your Personalized Book. Once you instruct us to publish your Personalized Book, we’ll print it and ship it to the address you provided. We’ll let Amazon know we’ve shipped your Personalized Book and send Amazon the tracking number provided by the shipping service.

Email a Friend. If you elect to share your Personalized Book with a friend using our “Email My Book to a Friend” feature, your book cover with your name, along with a page spread with your photo(s) and/or your artwork and photo credit, will appear on the page to which your friend is referred. We’ll use the email address you provide through our “Email My Book to a Friend” tool only to send the requested email to your friend.

Content Storage. We will store the photo(s), artwork and text you provide in an image database so that you may temporarily leave the customization session and return to the site to conclude the customization of your Personalized Book and share the book with your friends if you choose to do so.

Cookies. To help us make your experience on our website as enjoyable as we can, we may also use “cookies,” a standard feature of Web browser software, to store and sometimes track certain information. Cookies are small data files that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. We use cookies to help us better understand how you move through our site so that we may optimize your experience here. Cookies are also used to tell us whether you have visited our site previously, and to help us determine whether you came to the site from a particular Internet link or advertisement. Cookies can also be used to help you save and retrieve passwords and other information and preferences you use on our website, saving you from having to reenter this information on every visit to the site.

Cookies cannot and will not be used by us to retrieve any personal information about you from your computer that you have not previously and voluntarily provided to us. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can configure your browser to block them in the future.

Browser-Level Information and IP Addresses. Our Web servers may automatically collect limited information about your computer configuration when you visit our site, including the type of browser software you use, the operating system you’re running, the resolution of your computer monitor, the website that referred you, and your IP address. (Your IP address is a numerical address that is used by computers connected to the Internet to identify your computer so that data, such as the Web pages you want to view, can be transmitted to you. We also use IP address information for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. Your IP address does not tell us who you are.) We use this information to deliver our Web pages to you upon request, to optimize our site for viewing by our users and to measure traffic within our site.

Disclosure of Information

Sponsors and Marketing Partners. We may give you an opportunity to tell us whether you would like to receive email messages promoting third parties, such as our corporate marketing partners. If you elect to receive such promotions, we may send you email messages promoting such third parties. Although we hope you’ll find these communications informative and useful, if you don’t, you can always unsubscribe by following the simple instructions included in each such email.

Statistical Information. Much of the information we collect is in the form of aggregated statistics, such as the number of users who visit various pages within our site, and demographic information relating to visitors to our site. Such aggregated information does not include any information that would identify you personally. We may use such aggregated information and disclose it to third parties as we see fit.

Sites to Which We Link. Our site may include links to other websites, and may provide access to products and services offered by third parties, whose privacy policies we don’t control. When you access another site, the use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you’re visiting.

Other Disclosures. We may occasionally release information about our visitors when release is appropriate to comply with the law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of visitors to our sites, the public, or our company and its employees, agents, partners and affiliates. As our business grows, we may buy or sell various assets. In the unlikely event that our company, or the bulk of our assets relating to this site, is acquired by another company, information on our visitors would be among the transferred assets.

Storage of Information

The information we gather on our site is stored within a database operated by us or by a contractor on our behalf. This database is located on servers that are under our control and are housed in a secure facility.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

A final note: The Web is an evolving medium. If we change our privacy policy at some point in the future, we will post the changes to this site before they take effect.
